If we pray hard enough, will the recession go away?
The short answer is no. No matter how hard these people try, hard work and out-of-the-box solutions — and not some blind devotion to evangelicalism — are going to restore our economy.

1.) Putting responsibility in something else’s hands means when petitioning doesn’t work, you’re off the hook.
2.) In the times when petitioning and the desired result coincide, if you’re insane, you take it as personal divine approval.
It’s a win-win for the weak. Screw master’s programs in economics, we’ll just ask dad.
And more disturbing, if he decides no, we’ll just accept it.
